DESCRIPTION

tovret uses a physical retrieval model to obtain vertical profiles of atmospheric temperature, humidity, geopotential height, total ozone, and stability parameters. This program can operate on HIRS and MSU data that have been limb-corrected or not, however, the latter seems to give better results. Tovret is our most up-to-date model. It obtains solutions for temperature and water vapor in a single step from combined infrared and microwave measurements.

The question mark (?) should be replaced with the response to the ENTER LETTER OF FILE TO PROCESS parameter. The TERASCAN TOVS implementation includes the Sept. 27, 1988 corrections to TOVRET.
